What Markus receives
Only the requests your AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) sends to a Markus tool: search words, filters such as city, dates or category, and the events you ask about, save or want to register for. Markus never receives your conversation with the assistant.
To sign you in, Markus receives your email address and name from Google or from the email you enter for a one-time code.
What Markus stores
- Your profile: email, display name, a company guessed from a work email domain, a random share id, and whether other users who saved the same events may see your name and company.
- Your events: events you save and lists you make, and registration links created for you and whether you opened them.
- Interests: role, industries, topics, home city and travel range, if you tell your assistant.
- Email alerts: the searches you asked to follow, only after you agree to receive emails.
- Intros: intro requests you send or receive and their status.
- LinkedIn: if you connect LinkedIn, an access token that lets Markus post a poster when you ask. Markus never posts without your request.
- Catalog contributions: events you or your assistant submit or correct.
- Request records: for each request, which assistant sent it and when, what it asked for, which events were returned and whether it worked.
Why
To answer your requests, suggest better events, find events missing from the catalog, keep the catalog accurate, and prevent abuse. Markus does not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Markus staff, to run and improve the service.
- Anyone with your share link or calendar link can see your saved events and lists.
- Other Markus users see your name and company only if you chose to be shown to people who saved the same events. Your email is shared with another user only after you accept their intro request, or they accept yours.
- Service providers that host Markus (Supabase for the database and functions, Deno Deploy for the web address) process data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
- Request records: 180 days. Daily request counts used to prevent abuse: 30 days.
- Stopped alerts: 30 days. Intro requests that weren't accepted: 180 days.
- Your profile, saved events, lists and interests: until you delete them or ask us to delete your data.
Emails
Markus emails you only if you agreed to it: event alerts at most once a day, and reminders. Every email has a one-click link that stops them.
Your choices
Ask your assistant to remove saved events, delete lists, change interests or stop alerts at any time. Disconnect Markus in your assistant's connector settings.
To get a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, or exercise your other privacy rights, email privacy@dearmarkus.ai. We verify your identity before responding and reply within the time the law requires.
